Kings Engineering
Welcome to Kings Engineering, a 100% Kiwi-owned and operated steel fabrication business situated in the heart of Papakura, South Auckland. Since our foundation in 2016, we have dedicated ourselves to serving the New Zealand construction market with a focus on heavy fabrication, precast supplies, and general engineering.
Our Journey
Kings Engineering began as a small start-up and has evolved into a powerhouse of engineering expertise, now employing a skilled team of 15 professionals. Director
Steven King is the driving force behind Kings Engineering. His journey in the industry is a testament to hands-on experience and practical know-how.
Starting from the workshop floor, Steven learnt the business from the ground up. This foundational experience has shaped his approach to leadership and problem-solving. As a genuine 'maker', he brings a practical mindset to every job.
Steven has a talent for analysing project requirements and collaborating effectively with engineers and project managers - providing valuable design input - ensuring that Kings Engineering delivers quality work on time and within budget.

Michael Balks
Production Manager
Michael brings a wealth of experience to the Kings Engineering team, with a solid background in manufacturing and engineering environments. Over his 20 years in the industry, he's honed his skills in leading teams and driving operational improvements. Michael's keen eye for quality management and expertise in lean production techniques have become real assets to the company. He enjoys putting his leadership skills and industry know-how to the test, helping Kings Engineering deliver effective solutions while keeping our production processes running smoothly.

Estimator
Clint is Kings Engineering's dedicated Estimator, bringing a wealth of experience from his background in engineering and manufacturing. His expertise in cost analysis and project planning plays a crucial role in making sure the company's projects are accurately priced. Clint's specialist skillset and in-depth understanding of the industry contribute significantly to Kings Engineering's reputation for reliability and transparency. And he’s a good team man who values the family atmosphere at Kings Engineering.

Alistair Martin
Design Engineer
Alistair is Kings Engineering's in-house Designer and Draftsman. With a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (Tech) and three years of industry experience, Alistair is highly skilled at translating design concepts into precise technical drawings. His innovative thinking and attention to detail have helped build the company's reputation for high-quality, customised engineering solutions. Outside of work, Alistair is a keen golfer and he loves his drum and bass!

Dion has been at King’s Engineering, working alongside Steve since day one. He began a general hand, and through hard work and determination, he steadily climbed the ranks. Today, Dion plays a critical role in the day-to-day running of our operation. His knowledge of our products is top-notch, and he ensures that every aspect of production runs smoothly. Dion's leadership and drive for excellence inspire the entire team, making him a crucial asset to our company.
