Omaroro Reservoir

Kings Engineering proudly manufactured the panel and palister moulds for this project, which played a crucial role in the construction of the Omāroro reservoir. 

Managed by Wellington Water, this underground reservoir at Prince of Wales Park will significantly enhance water storage for Wellington city. In the face of supply pipe disruptions, the reservoir guarantees a 48-hour water supply to the entire city. 

To foster community involvement, the Council collaborated with Wellington Water to establish a Community Reference Group, ensuring that residents and park users have a voice in project management. 

With its strategic location, Omāroro will provide essential bulk water storage to fortify the operational and disaster resilience of Wellington’s central business district and low-lying suburbs.
